Job Summary:
BNI is looking for an experienced and dynamic Programme Manager to lead and manage our program portfolio.
The ideal candidate will provide strategic direction, ensure program quality, and oversee the successful
implementation of BNI’s initiatives. You will play a critical role in driving BNI’s mission to empower young
people, strengthen communities, and advocate for positive youth development, and social justice.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop Program Strategy: Design and implement innovative program strategies, including delivery models
that align with BNI’s objectives. Work closely with the leadership team to ensure all programs contribute to
the long-term goals of the organization.
• Ensure Program Quality and Learning: Regularly monitor and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of all
programs. Identify areas for improvement and ensure that lessons learned from ongoing programs are
incorporated into future projects to enhance their impact.
• Provide Leadership to the Programs Unit: Manage, mentor, and guide the program team to achieve high
performance. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture that aligns with BNI’s values.
• Influence Funding Priorities: Use insights gained from program monitoring and evaluation to influence
internal and external funding decisions. Collaborate with the development team to identify funding
opportunities that support program expansion.
• Quality Assurance and Audits: Conduct periodic audits of all programs to ensure they meet quality standards
and compliance requirements. Address any issues that may arise and work towards continuous improvement.
• Partnership Development: Identify, establish, and nurture relationships with local and international partners.
Strengthen partnerships that can support program expansion and improve the organization’s visibility in key
sectors.
• Reporting and Compliance: Develop and maintain robust reporting mechanisms. Ensure that program reports
are timely, accurate, and meet donor and organizational requirements.
• System Strengthening Approaches: Ensure that programs integrate system change approaches, promoting the
strengthening of food, school, family, and community systems.
• Youth Empowerment and Community Development: Design and implement programs that focus on
empowering youth, strengthening community development, and offering social protection services to
vulnerable populations.
• Grant Proposal Writing: Lead the development of compelling grant proposals to secure funding for new and
ongoing projects.
• Data Management and Research: Oversee data collection, management, and analysis to inform decisionmaking and program design.
• Perform Other Duties: Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support the overall success and growth
of the organization.
Qualifications & Experience:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field. A postgraduate degree in
a relevant field will be an added advantage.
• At least three (3) years of experience in program design, management, and implementation in non-profit
settings.
• Proven ability to conceptualize, plan, and execute programs from inception to completion.
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire teams.
• Familiarity with national and international legal frameworks on children’s rights, youth development,
gender equality, women’s rights, and social protection.
• Experience designing and implementing system-strengthening approaches in program settings.
• Strong skills in grant writing, research, data management, and impact measurement.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced
environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships and work
with diverse stakeholders.
